Can you believe
it! It’s been thirty years since we graduated from Grand Old Abilene High!
And the great class of 1978 is planning our thirty year reunion. Here’s
all the info needed to plan for a great weekend of old friends, a great game,
rest and relaxation….
Starting on Friday –
October 10th – We will have a Meet
and Greet in the West Cafeteria at Abilene High School – we will have lots of
time to catch up with old friends and talk about “the good old days” – We will
serve light snacks and drinks – this starts at around 7:00
pm….
On Saturday afternoon we
will all meet at Shotwell Stadium for the AHS Homecoming game – we can all sit
together in the general admission section….You are welcome to bring your
children along for this exciting time – the game starts at 1:00 pm on Saturday
the 11th… That evening we will
all meet at the Howard Johnson’s (formerly Kiva Inn) on South
1st for a great barbeque
dinner catered by Sharon Allen’s at 7:00 pm – the Howard Johnson’s has really
gone out of their way for us to enjoy the evening and talk about old times….We
will have a cash bar along with a DJ and lots of good food…… Howard
Johnson’s has also given us a special room rate for the weekend for only $62.00
a night…So call ahead and make your reservation early – remember to tell them
its for the AHS Class Reunion. The number to call is (325) 480-1445 – this
rate does include a continental breakfast……
Weekend Costs
are as follows:
Couple
- $70.00 – this includes meet
and greet on Friday – 2 adult tickets for the game - 2 adult dinners on
Saturday evening….Children’s tickets are $3.00 per child extra (or you can
purchase them at the gate….)
Singles
- $50.00 – this includes meet
and greet on Friday – 1 adult ticket for the game and 1 dinner on Saturday
evening…
We
must have all registrations in by no later than September 19,
2008 – we
have to give the number to Sharon Allen’s by then. Once we have
given them that number we have to pay for that many people… There will be a
additional charge for late registration and the game tickets will have to be
purchased at the gate……Check or money order
made out to – AHS Class of ‘78 please……
Oh yes, the best part is
this whole weekend is casual dress….We want you to come and be comfortable and
stay awhile. Stan West with “Stan West Photographs” will be with us on Saturday
night for a group picture – you can also order individual photos as
well.
If you know of anyone in
our class that has passed away over the last few years please include that
information on your registration – we are working on a special project to
remember the ones that we have lost over the years….Also make sure all the
classmates that you keep up with all know about the reunion – just make a copy
of this letter for them and make sure they are planning to
attend….
